Barbara is a Business Consultant, Executive Coach and Professional Speaker. She has extensive experience of working in management and organisational development for a range of local, national and regional organisations and has been involved in major change projects in private, public and third sector businesses.

Barbara’s extensive career history includes housing, PR and marketing, NHS and national third sector organisations. She was Chief Executive of a regional housing organisation for thirteen years. She is currently chair of the Gateshead Housing Company, delivering a £320 million housing regeneration programme in the North East of England. She was awarded the OBE in 2002 for services to housing and economic regeneration.

Barbara has spent the past seven years working with a variety of businesses across the UK, providing change consultancy, coaching and leadership development. In addition she is a speaker and member of the Professional Speakers Association. As a qualified corporate and executive coach Barbara specialises in leadership development and business improvement. She is also a qualified assessor specialising in Emotional Intelligence and i3 Profiling assessments for leaders.

Barbara works across all sectors, typically with business owners, boards, directors, and senior managers on both a team and individual basis. By combining her expertise in business and leadership development with her extensive organisational experience, she can provide supportive but challenging facilitation, for either teams or individuals facing the challenge of change.

An experienced trainer and facilitator, Barbara works on leadership development programmes and is a certified facilitator of “The Adizes Methodology” and “Leading Bold Change.” Barbara therefore offers a unique blend of business understanding, tried and tested methodologies and hands on experience in her client work.

Barbara’s recent work includes:

Facilitating the executive team of a major business support company to align their organisation’s strategic objectives with their team’s leadership style, culture and values.
Creating and delivering a leadership development programme for Chief Executives of third Sector organisations across the North East and Cumbria. This involved follow up coaching, leadership master classes and peer group facilitation.
Executive Coaching (CEOs and Board Directors from a variety of organisations in the housing, finance, engineering, construction and business enterprise sectors)
Facilitating the Executive Management Team of an ALMO to work towards achieving Three Star
